College is supposed to be the most fun years of one's life, yet I was struck with chronic pain. So bad, that I could not get any rest without waking up in pain. A dull aching stiff pain, that would require that I get out of bed and move around just for it to be manageable and MAYBE be able to go back to sleep, just to wake up in pain again a few hours later. Specialist after specialist trying to figure out what was wrong with my back. From once a tri-sport athlete, to becoming sedentary and hopeless, driving me to some very dark places in my mind. I could not live out a life like this in constant pain, not knowing what was going on, and no idea if I would ever be the same again. One day, I realized that my uncle had lost most of the use of his spine, which I thought was due to injury. That is when I had reached out and learned that he had Ankylosing Spondylitis.

After taking this newfound information to my Dr's they were able to confirm, this was the disease I had. Some may have been devastated to learn that they had inherited a disease where the immune system causes the bones in the hips, back, and spine to fuse, amongst other health complications. However, I was happy to figure out what I had and it gave me hope that I would find relief. Through the help of my family, we were able to locate a life coach that opened my eyes to the importance of belief and positivity on one's health.

Now did it remove all pain from my body? No, it did not, but I was able to get it to a point where it was manageable, and I could begin enjoying my life again. I managed to graduate from the University of Missouri on time with a business marketing degree and received a certificate for passing their sales program. Even going on to eventually win two bodybuilding competitions after college, battling through the pain during training and doing everything I could to win.

Things had looked good for me as I was finishing up my senior year, I had a job as a commercial real estate agent awaiting me. However, just two months before graduation COVID hit, shutting the world down and causing me to lose the job I worked so hard to secure. If there was anything I learned from my life coach though, it was when one door closes another opens. I got my license anyway and got a job working as a listing agent for a large flipping company here in town. This is where I would be thrown in the deep end and sell over 55 houses in a nine-month time span, learning the art of real estate negotiation, from netting the most for my company up front, to navigating repairs and appraisal issues. I enjoy a good challenge though, which is why I eventually opted to move into acquisitions, where I would go out and walk properties, underwrite rehabs, figure out the price it will sell for after rehab, and then negotiate our offer with the seller. This is where I would learn what repairs maximize a return, as well as the cost of remodeling a home.

It was time I went out and started on my own, as again, I love a challenge and knew I would not reach my potential working for somebody else. It was not long before I met Jim. Integrity and ethics are extremely important to me, and Jim and I realized we were both in alignment and had common goals. That is when we began our real estate investing journey. Since January 2023, we have flipped numerous properties and built up a sizeable rental portfolio. Along the way I joined Jim's brokerage and assisted homeowners buy and sell their primary homes, as well as assisted investors on flipping properties and building their own rental portfolio.

Fast forward to 2025, and Jim and I have partnered to create Executive Asset Properties. A team dedicated to helping anybody within their journey, whether it is buying their first home, selling a home to move onto the next adventure into life, or investing for their future our team is there to fully support them!

When I confronted an uncomfortable truth, there was no turning back. Through reclaiming and rebuilding my life, I uncovered the person I always knew I could be.

As I sat up in bed, light sneaking around the edges of the curtains, and I was hit with a sudden awareness. In that moment, I realized I was an addict. I was the last one to notice, though my life was already in shambles. Once I realized it, however, I was ready to take my life back.

About two years before that morning, I was more successful than I ever could have imagined. I was running two real estate offices, one here in Kansas City and one in Connecticut where I grew up, selling around 200 properties per year. Then, I lost sight of my core values, and my life began to spiral.

My divorce hit me like a ton of bricks. I started spending more time with friends who were not the best influences. After several poor choices along the way, that path led me to becoming an addict. When I woke up and confronted the truth, I recognized if I stayed on that path, things could only end one way for me.

I wanted to make real change and knew traditional methods would not work for me with their high relapse rates. I found an alternative program with an 87% success rate and signed up. After seven days of treatment, I was clean and never looked back. Once I came home, I still had to rebuild my entire life.

Kelley, my girlfriend at the time and now my wife, stuck with me through all of it. Working on myself full force, I did everything I could to improve myself physically and mentally, from biking to meditation. I dove deep into what it meant to me to be a human. At the same time, I slowly began rebuilding my real estate career.

I faced bankruptcy and multiple foreclosures, but real estate was the only way forward for me. After a career in construction and four and a half years in the Marines, real estate was my life. It is what I know and love. Since 2004, this industry has been my focus. After a brief time in loans, I found a passion for working as an agent. I loved being able to positively impact others' lives.

Through the ups and downs in the market, I never missed a beat. However, I had more success than I bargained for, having grown up in a home where we could barely keep food on the table. I lost sight of where I came from, who I was, and those around me. While rebuilding my life, all of that became clear once again as my priorities shifted.

We had our son, Ossian, in 2019, and fatherhood has been the most spectacular gift. My priorities now are my relationships with others and how people in the world know me-hopefully as a caring listener. That is how I define success today, whereas before it came down to numbers.

I am proud of where I am today, that I got clean from addiction and now have a successful business and growing family. We all face different struggles in our lives. There are so many people out there still struggling with a story like mine. All I can aspire to through sharing my experience and my work in real estate is to plant a seed of hope and leave a positive impact. Whenever I am not working,I enjoy hiking, traveling, running, and skiing. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is developing new friendships and strengthening those I already have.

My number one intention for our relationship is to be the calm in the center of the storm. Through the course of any transaction, many things can arise, but I will always be here to provide solutions, encouragement and a listening ear. Working alongside my tight-knit team of experts, we will provide 24/7 support for you throughout this process.

I have been through the highs and lows in real estate both professionally and personally. I know how to maximize your return on a property and what projects are not worth your time. From decluttering to a complete remodel, I can provide guidance on which options would best fit your needs. I came to real estate from construction and have put in many sweat equity hours on properties myself, providing this unique insight into structures. With an investor's mindset and unlimited support, I will help you reach your goals. I have extensive experience in residential and investment, especially managing projects on rehab properties for my investor clients. Once the transaction is over, I will continue supporting you as your lifelong REALTOR® and friend.
